Texas Oncology is looking for a full-time Oncology Clinic Nurse Manager (RN) to join our team! This position will support The Medical Center location in Houston, Texas. This position will require travel throughout the region as needed.

What does the Oncology Clinic Nurse Manager (RN) position do?
The Oncology Clinic Nurse Manager (RN) will work in conjunction with, and by the direction of, the Director of Nursing Services and also with the Regional Executive Director, if applicable, to provide nursing support for operations to existing practice locations and newly acquired practices by consulting and advising clinicians on best-practices, implementing of/providing education and training programs, and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives
  • Collaborates with practice management to provide support on operational projects such as site Quality Committees, Quality Oncology Practice Initiative site assessments, Advancing Care Information, the Oncology Care Model (OCM), and other special projects as assigned.
  • Facilitates the implementation and/or utilization of outcomes data and evidence-based practices
  • Facilitates implementation of standardized best practices within the organization.
  • Ensures practice standards of care are consistent with community standards of care.
  • Ensures the incorporation of clinical evidence into existing and newly developed standards.
  • Staff DevelopmentAssess staffing levels and issues, patient flow, current practices in the clinical setting.
  • Assists with the development of company-wide clinical competency testing and skills validation programs.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave and overtime.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Oncology Clinic Nurse Manager (RN) position will have the following background and experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Minimum (5) five years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least three years oncology experience.
  • Minimum (3) three years of leadership experience
  • Oncology certification preferred
