As a Health, Safety, and Environmental Advisor, you are responsible for applying fundamental Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) practices on a worksite and will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a safe working environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assists manager in coordinating that the Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) plan and related HS&E processes are implemented correctly and being followed
  • Understands and applies HS&E tools, requirements, and processes to project/worksite processes
  • Supports in the development and improvement of HS&E processes based on lessons learned, feedback, and emerging trends
  • Collects HS&E data associated with incidents, inspections, and audits to track and trend HS&E performance and assist with identifying areas for improvement
  • Administers records pertaining to HS&E activities, encompassing incident reports, inspection findings, training records, and permits
  • Prepares regular reports on safety performance indicators and trends, effectively communicate results and findings to relevant stakeholders
  • Supports manager of HS&E in hazard assessments, inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with HS&E plan requirements
  • Participates in the incident investigation process, including the creation of incident notifications

Qualifications:

  • Two or more years' experience in Commercial construction, Telecommunication, or another related industry, with relevant health and safety experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to field workers, while also effectively interacting with project management staff, clients, and customers
  • Ability to provide a proactive approach to safety, including identification of operational and organizational issues, as well as developing and implementing strategies to solve them
  • Demonstrated experience in risk assessment, program development, safety & health training, and accident investigation
  • Knowledge of safety requirements while working in confined spaces is an asset
  • Must have and maintain a valid class driver's license with clean abstract
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol testing requirements

Work Conditions:

  • Position is office based - travel (50%) to various work sites and project locations will be required

Compensation

$64,000 USD Annual - $88,000 USD Annual

Site or project-based roles may be eligible for additional pay elements.

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
