Must be local to Chicago and able to sit onsite. The team has a significant amount of UI work this year and well into next. Candidates should have senior-level experience (ideally 8+ years) in UI development, React, other JavaScript frameworks (Angular), and exposure to cloud environments. The team primarily uses Azure but is also open to candidates with AWS experience. The role involves building out designs for dashboard applications to monitor blockchain transactions. Candidates should have the ability to work without UX designers when necessary. Project Overview The Senior UI Developer will represent the Digital Asset Innovation development team and play a key role in supporting the digital transformation of assets and asset servicing functions leveraging emerging technologies such as cloud technologies, distributed ledgers, machine learning, cognitive algorithms, etc. Contractor's Role The primary goal is to design, implement, and support modern interactive UI solutions developed in JS frameworks such as ReactJS. Coordination with Backend Developers, HTML coders, and Graphic Designers is required for a complete web development experience. Knowledge of packing & deploying apps via CI/CD pipelines to a cloud platform is essential. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are necessary, along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience Level * Senior - 8+ years of experience as a UI/UX Developer or Web Developer Qualifications * Well-versed in modern JS Frameworks such as React, Angular, Polymer, Vue, etc. * Experience with state management like Redux, React-Context, or similar libraries * Good understanding of asynchronous, closure, event-driven programming * Good understanding of browser rendering behavior and performance * Familiarity with JavaScript module loaders and testing tools * Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Webpack, Grunt, and Gulp.js * Complete knowledge of programming languages like CSS, HTML, and JavaScript * Knowledge of website design best practices and UI/UX designs * Strong analytical skills and excellent multitasking and organizational skills * Ability to work in a team and under pressure * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field Nice to Haves * Experience working with Cloud platforms such as MS Azure, AWS preferred Tasks and Responsibilities * Using programming languages like HTML/CSS and JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJs to create responsive web pages. * Creating aesthetically appealing websites with a friendly user interface design * Following established code practices when undertaking user interface development * Working closely with Designers and Backend Developers to ascertain client needs * Optimizing websites, programs, and applications for better speed and functionality * Gathering feedback from clients and technical staff and conducting troubleshooting procedures * Developing functional documentation and guidelines for other team members * Creating prototypes for testing website functionality * Conceptualizing website designs and placements * Using analytical tools to determine website performance, including website speed, load time, etc. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Past Financial Services experience is a plus; a huge plus if they have Azure exposure Work Environment This person will interface with the dev teams along with some interaction with the product owners, architecture, business & cloud support teams, and the database team. The team is back onsite hybrid. Business Drivers/Customer Impact The team is involved in delivering integrated asset servicing and digital solutions for fractional ownership of fixed income bonds.
