SUMMARY: Lubricate and maintain equipment while complying with GMP and Food Safety requirements. Inspect equipment and identify preventative maintenance needs. Communicate with co-workers and operations about problems, complete work orders as necessary. Keep daily maintenance log by documenting service of equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices. It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicated key personnel with the authority to take action.

  • Lubricate Equipment, grease bearings, gears, gear boxes, fill automatic-lubing systems, inspect and maintain grease lines as needed.
  • Supply parts needed, parts requests, assist parts clerk with cycle counts.
  • Communicate effectively with and receive information from supervisors and/or maintenance manager, discuss problems, notify mechanics of problems, complete daily log book.
  • Inspect and adjust equipment, adjust packing, belts, chains and conveyors as needed.
  • Monitor equipment throughout plant, perform checks, notify maintenance of equipment malfunction, drain and refill gear boxes, change grease lines and fittings.
  • Utilize GMP and Food Safety Requirements, prevent contamination, proper storage and transporting of lubricants.


SKILLS:



  • Ability to read, write and speak and understand English in order to interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, reach, feel objects, tools, or controls. Reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk, hear, taste or smell.
  • Sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/ or move up to 50lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for paperwork, driving and reading specifications, distance vision to drive the forklift, color vision to check product color and identify packaging color differences.
