Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering/Technical or equivalent experience.
  • United States citizenship required.
  • Must live in the United States 3 of the last 5 years (military service and study abroad accepted).
  • Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain a suitability determination or security clearance.
  • Understanding of product life cycle management.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with technical product services support.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide audience, both technical and non-technical.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management techniques and practices.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of database, word processing, spreadsheet and graphics applications.
  • Knowledge of computer, software and telecommunications.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
  • Good writing skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with mobile applications, development and release to market.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.
  • PM certified

Working Conditions: Encountered on a regular basis as part of the work this job performs.

  • Use of standard office equipment such as copier, computer, keyboard, telephone and fax machine.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors in order to design software GUI and create marketing materials.

Responsibilities

Summary

The Product Owner combines the skills of technical support services, manufacturing, and project management rolled into one. The individual is to support and work hand in hand with the product manager in managing the day-to-day execution of developing, manufacturing, and servicing of BI products. This person will serve as the focal point for most of the tactical coordination needed during the development, launch, and post launch support of products during the product life cycle.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help to coordinate and ensure alignment among cross-functional teams to meet major product milestones and customer commitments.
  • Develop integrated project plans across functional teams to support the execution of major product milestones and commitments in support of the product manager.
  • Support and coordinate with product manager and product teams to ensure robust qualification criteria are met to exit each stage of product life cycle (development, alpha, beta, manufacturing transfer and ramp, EOL).
  • Be able to discern and categorize customer issues and requests (in the ticketing system and ad hoc) and funnel them to the appropriate teams in support of the product manager's priorities.
  • Be able to use a product life cycle management tool to ensure proper documentation to support standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Use analytical skills to detect common patterns in repeated issue occurrences and track pareto of major issues.
  • Tracking and regularly reporting out progress made on resolving major customer issues.
  • Help to coordinate roll out of new product testing, validation, and post product roll out support.
  • Participate in product development team meetings as needed.
  • Participate in manufacturing meetings as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
