Basic Function

HF Sinclair Midstream located in Artesia, NM is seeking a Supervisor, Terminal and Product Pipeline. This position oversees multiple aspects and activities for terminal and crude systems/pipeline operations.

Job Duties

(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)



  • Manages product pipelines, terminal and crude systems for assigned area
  • Oversight and coordination with terminal employees and measurement department to ensure pipelines, crude systems, terminal, and tank gain/loss is within industry best practices and within contractual limits
  • Oversees, schedules, and coordinates normal pipeline maintenance such as pipeline repairs and replacements, spill response, and other maintenance as required, as well as related project scope and job plans
  • Management of employees - performance reviews and ongoing development of the staff, engagement and motivation, hiring, disciplinary process, worker safety
  • Promote and develop safe work behaviors in line with company practices and supportive of our culture of Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Ownership, and Inclusion
  • Responsible for development and oversight of Operating and Maintenance Budgets
  • Actively participate in periodic meetings and best practices reviews with other HEP Sites
  • Establish and maintain appropriate communication with Refinery, Laboratory, Marketing, Scheduling, Pipeline Control Center, Economics & Planning Groups, and other 3rd party customers
  • Regular site visits for operational inspections and team meetings
  • Ensures coordination with other departments, crafts, and contractors to complete routine and preventative maintenance activities on terminal assets and associated pipelines (e.g. pigging, I&E, scheduling, C&M, etc.)
  • Provides project management input for large capital and XO projects
  • Manages regulatory compliance and interfaces with the applicable regulatory authorities for assigned area
  • Represents company as an emergency responder for assigned area and organizes effective response; may be called upon to act as Qualified Individual and/or Incident/Operations Commander
  • Implements, executes, and oversees practice to ensure compliance with all federal and state pipeline regulations for assigned area
  • Develop, generate, monitor, and publish key performance indicators for responsible facilities
  • Accountable for appropriate procedure development and training practices



Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of seven years of related experience with at least two years in a lead role is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience at is required.

Required Skills

Special training and/or certifications in computer accounting software and hazardous materials is essential. A significant amount of energy industry and supervisory experience is required. Basic reading and writing skills with the ability to perform basic level mathematical calculations. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for the direct supervision of at least three to eight employees.

Work Conditions

Office and field based with 10% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, working in confined spaces, and exposure to the risk of electrical shock. Subject to all temperatures, weather, and varying road conditions.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand & finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 25lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 25 lbs, climbing up to 60 ft, strenuous physical activity, perceiving color differences, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates, valid State driver's license and proof of insurance required, and ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted).
