AMD together we advance_

THE TEAM:

AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming the industry with our AI based Graphic Processors. Our primary objective is to design exceptional products that drive the evolution of computing experiences, serving as the cornerstone for enterprise Data Centers, (AI) Artificial Intelligence, HPC and Embedded systems. If this resonates with you, come and joining our Data Center GPU organization where we are building amazing AI powered products with amazing people.

THE ROLE:

The AI and HPC markets are expanding rapidly, demanding larger and more complex datacenter deployments to feed system time to thousands of AMD engineers for product development. These global datacenters, labs, and externally hosted resources contain state-of-the-art development vehicles to supercomputers and large AI clusters. Additionally, our Data Center GPU (DCGPU) Instinct products demand higher levels of quality through fleet health observability. To achieve these goals, we are searching for a data analyst to examine datacenter operations metrics and guide the business in optimizing these critical resources.

THE PERSON:

You will be a part of a team analyzing and optimizing AMD's DCGPU datacenter operations close to the core of the business. You will work with AMD data engineering and infrastructure teams to understand available data and datacenter capabilities. You will be applying your data analyst and computing backgrounds to weave data stories of what is working (and not working) in the realm of datacenter management in this new age of computing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze availability, utilization, issue resolution (ITSM), and management strategy of the AMD-internal fleet of development computing systems
  • Create and maintain reporting to visualize and track data over time using various methods
  • Develop Python scripts to extract data from various data engineering and infrastructure sources
  • Work closely, communicate your findings, and make recommendations to datacenter project management and infrastructure teams

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-5 years' experience mining data (including time-series) as a data analyst, analytics engineer, or business intelligence engineer
  • Knowledge of datacenter, medium/large-size computing laboratory, or cluster management operations
  • Experience with data analytics, visualizations, and report generation (PowerBI, Thoughtspot, Excel, JMP)
  • Experience writing code in Python or similar languages, SQL, and APIs to extract data from warehouses in places like Postgres, Databricks, or Snowflake for high-availability, low-latency enterprise solutions
  • Experience in development, monitoring, and debugging pipelines for batch, microbatch, real-time, and streaming products at enterprise scale
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Good to have - Data Lakehouse experience across any catalog (Unity, Polaris, Nessie)

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Financial Technology
