Overview

Location: Remote - Applicants preferrably live in Des Moines or Cedar Rapids, IA or in Madison, WI

Hours: Monday-Friday, days

We are looking for an Enterprise Storage Adminstrator to join our team! In this role, you can expect to be responsible for delivery of services required to install, configure, monitor, support and manage the enterprise storage and backup and recovery systems. Additionally, candidates interested in this position would completel troubleshooting, monitoring and maintaining enterprise storage system, including system integration, disaster recovery, capacity planning and management, performance management, and establishment of enterprise standards. You would be accountable for testing, technical training, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing support of software as it relates to enterprise storage systems, as well as maintaing an understanding of the business environment and the business applications running in the enterprise and participates in the planning of new systems where requested.


Responsibilities

System Administration

  • Provides daily administration of the SAN/Storage environment including storage admin, software & hardware support, device configuration & monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Designs, configures and troubleshoots fabric environment constituting Brocade and Cisco switches.
  • Responsible for system tuning and recommendations to maintain optimal enterprise storage performance.
  • Monitor, analyze and predict trends for storage and backup equipment performance, space allocation, and data growth to recommend enhancements and growth
  • Reviews system back-up methodology to ensure consistency across all platforms, and compliance with Information Technology documented SOP's.
  • Works incident tickets including problem isolation, analysis, root cause and solution implementation.
  • Acquires and maintains in depth knowledge of UnityPoint Health processes like incident management, problem management, configuration management and change management processes
  • Maintain procedures which document requirements for addition, deletion, or changes to participating systems.
  • Define, document, and publish system standards and protocols, which specify the characteristics of enterprise storage and backup systems.
  • Perform quality assurance and change control functions on system changes / applications moving to production
  • Responsible for defining, executing and administering security procedures which protect applicable data for the enterprise storage and backup systems.
  • Responsible for physical hardware installation in all Data Centers of storage and backup systems and application software on supported platforms.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or Information Systems required. Equivalent education and work experience will be accepted only if previous experience applies to specific systems.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in storage / backup administration is required.
