Overview

The Sr Accountant CRIS is responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring its financial health and sustainability. This role oversees all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and compliance requirements. The Senior Accountant reports to the Carle Corporate Manager of Finance/Reporting Grants and Corporate Entities. This position also works closely with the Executive Director and CRIS Health Aging Board of Directors to develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization's mission and goals.

Responsibilities

Candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, analytical, technology and problem-solving skills including effective knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Uniform Guidance codes. The position requires a high degree of professional collaboration in a team environment including project management skills. Must have the ability to analyze workflows, implement process improvements and complete tasks under stress with frequent interruptions. Must be able to create new reports in various mediums. Candidates will be proven self-starters that take initiative and work independently with little supervision.

Serve as "mini-controller" and financial liaison for CRIS Healthy Aging to include the preparation and presentation of monthly financial and operating reports.

Reconcile and prepare monthly and periodic grant billing report submissions through the various funding agencies in various prescribed formats.

Prepare grant budgets in coordination with each grant manager as required.

Prepare assigned sub-ledger to general ledger and other Balance Sheet reconciliations to substantiate account balances.

Perform budget variance and other analysis to identify and communicate developing trends and financial issues to management.

Assist leadership with budget development and oversight.

Provide leadership with information and analysis vital to the decision-making process.

Coordinate and perform assigned audit activities with internal and external auditors in conjunction with Corporate Consolidated audits.

Maintains, reconciles or assists in ensuring the accuracy of banking and cash transactions.

Performs specialized functional accounting, cash management tasks, receivables tasks, inter-company reconciliation, etc.

Responsible for one or more of the following "specialty" duties: annual budget development, user computer system administration and/or report writing, grant billing and oversight, compile information necessary for federal and state income tax return preparation, and fixed asset tracking. May also assist with non-assigned specialty areas.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $29.22per hour - $50.26per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
