Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Manager to lead and enhance financial operations within our organization. This role involves overseeing financial reporting, audit compliance, budgeting, and system enhancements while ensuring adherence to government financial regulations and best practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management, accounting operations, and process improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and accounting standards.
- Lead and manage financial audits, including responding to auditor requests and developing corrective action plans.
- Manage general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead budget planning, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, collaborating with internal teams and external auditors.
- Oversee financial system implementations and enhancements, ensuring compliance with SAP ERP and other accounting platforms.
- Provide expert guidance on government financial regulations, including OMB Circulars, Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), and federal audit requirements.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to optimize financial workflows and reporting procedures.
- Mentor and develop junior finance professionals, fostering a high-performing finance team.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Certifications: CPA, CGFM, PMP, or SAP certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, and audit compliance.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SAP ERP, financial reconciliations, government accounting standards, and audit processes.
- Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to present financial data effectively.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of OMB Circulars, Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), and federal audit processes.
