I. Major Responsibilities:

1. Orients, and trains all Supply Coordinator I, Supply Coordinator II, and Material Handlers assigned to area.
2. Establishes par levels for daily requirements on all supplies needed for direct patient care.
3. Meets with Nurse Coordinator to review and re-establish par levels on floor stock items.
4. Assist Nursing Coordinator in gathering information directly related to the preparation of the annual supply budget, i.e., current and anticipated supply statistics.
5. Performs periodic inventories of all stock supplies in specified areas. Coordinates annual physical inventory with Manager of Materials Distribution on predetermined schedule.
6. Ensures that orders for product are picked from inventory location and separated for delivery, loaded onto truck and transported to appropriate location.
7. Responds to stat orders received through the phone, e-mail, or pager requesting stock items. Makes certain items are delivered to appropriate areas in a timely fashion.
8. Tracks the schedule of deliveries, ensuring items are received on a timely basis from vendors. Contacts vendors to verify shipping schedules on hard to get or specialty items.
9. Oversees the keying of the quantity of received goods from vendors. Verifies that information entered into the system is accurate.
10. Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves personnel problems within position responsibilities. Performs annual employee evaluations in collaboration with department manager.
11. Distributes and monitors the flow of work for an assigned group of employees. Provides training and technical assistance to employees within the assigned work area. Assists supervisor in assuring that assigned employees are provided with appropriate resources, materials, and methods. Provides recommendations to manager or supervisor for the most efficient utilization of assigned personnel. Relays work instruction from the Manager.
12. Performs duties of other Distribution Coordinators at other sites as needed.
13. May perform duties Supply Coordinator and Material Handler as needed as a part of a working team.
14. Oversees accurate and timely input of order entry, receipt, and other data transactions into the computerized management information system.
15. Schedules hours worked, time off, weekend coverage, overtime, and/or shift rotation for the worksite.

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. High School degree or equivalent

Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Five years of relevant job experience. Strong customer skills required.

Preferred:
1. Two-year lead experience preferred.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies and their measurements, will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.

III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:

Work is considered sedentary. Position requires work indoors in a normal office environment.

Must have own transportation. Cross-campus coverage as needed.

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
