Summary
Responsible for overseeing the delivery of behavioral health services, ensuring quality care and compliance with regulatory standards. Develops and implements strategies to enhance service offerings, manage operational efficiency, and support patient-centered care. Works closely with clinical teams, community partners, and leadership to align behavioral health programs with the organization's mission and goals. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Provide leadership and direction for the behavioral health services department, ensuring high-quality patient care. -Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that meet regulatory and accreditation standards. -Collaborate with medical staff and hospital administration to integrate behavioral health services into overall patient care. -Manage departmental budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective operations. -Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of behavioral health staff. -Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed. -Establish partnerships with community organizations and external agencies to enhance behavioral health services and patient access. -Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies and accreditation requirements. Education Master's Degree Social Work required or Master's Degree PSYCHOLOGY required or Master's Degree Counseling required or Master's Degree Related Field of Study required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Social Worker [Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker - LICSW - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Psychologist [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Licensed Mental Health Counselor [LMHC - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Experience Experience in a behavioral health setting 5-7 years required and Experience in a management or leadership role 3-5 years required and Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment 3-5 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong understanding of behavioral health regulations and standards. - Strong leadership and team management abilities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. - Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in behavioral health service delivery. - Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements for behavioral health services. - Ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively.
