About The Position |

Do you binge-watch Bridgerton as soon as a new season drops? Are you the go-to friend for all the latest celebrity news: from new couple alerts to surprising breakups? PEOPLE is looking for an editor to join our digital Evergreen team.
This position will involve pitching, assigning and editing search-driven content for PEOPLE across our various verticals, from entertainment, royals and lifestyle content to crime and human interest. This person must be an impeccable editor as well as a digitally-savvy pop culture and celebrity expert who stays up-to-date on trending topics and popular entertainment releases (especially new streaming titles!), and also has a knowledge of SEO best practices and basic analytics.

PEOPLE is a fast-paced newsroom, so speed is essential along with an ability to handle multiple edits per day. We're looking for a self-sufficient editor who is comfortable recruiting and managing freelance writers, as well as using SEO tools to find and brainstorm new content. This position will also involve working on various projects across different departments and communicating with stakeholders.

Hybrid 3x a week- New York, NY

This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education:

BA or BS

Experience:

4-5 years experience with a celebrity news publication or in a related lifestyle space

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

- Demonstrated knowledge of celebrity, entertainment and pop culture.

- Strong writing and editing skills, impeccable journalistic standards, and attention to detail.

- Ability to respond quickly to breaking news and understand how to find an SEO or evergreen angle from a news event.

- Demonstrated understanding of SEO and analytics.

- Detail-oriented and organized, yet loves a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
