RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct routine and ongoing assessments of the building systems' operations, performing tests, rounds, and analyzing data to ensure the proper functioning of lab related equipment. They will monitor the operation of the mechanical/electrical operating equipment and plan and layout work details in the assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of various electrical apparatus, control equipment, and wiring used in industrial light and power distribution systems.

Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings, plan and organize work, and interact with clients and maintenance staff to determine the best approach to completing assignments safely and in an environmentally compliant manner. They will also be responsible for completing all required documentation in a timely manner.

Perform complex electrical construction work and install all types of electrical raceways and bus work, performing the necessary measuring, cutting, threading, bending, and assembling of conduit using the appropriate tools. They will safely use a variety of hand and shop power tools.

Troubleshoot and correct faulty wiring or electrical difficulties in motors and other equipment. They will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, upgrade, and install all electrical/instrumentation equipment and systems related to the facility. The incumbent will demonstrate knowledge of electrical/instrumentation/control building equipment and systems required to operate and maintain a large R&D Lab facility.

Anticipate potential problems and take appropriate actions to maximize the condition of facility structures and assets. They will document all work performed as well as hours to perform tasks on the CMMS (Corrigo) system work orders. Additionally, they will complete all other work associated with the assignment, working cooperatively with other trades and performing any incidental/associated work required to complete the job assignment. The incumbent will operate with minimal supervision

Understanding of backup power systems, including large scale UPS , changeover switchgear. Experience with emergency power distribution at panel level. Understanding and mitigating static electricity in a laboratory environment for sensitive electronics.

SKILLS:

Has the ability, skills and knowledge to use a variety of electrical testing instruments and apparatus. Maintains knowledge of and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, SOP's, NFPA, OSHA and work instructions as required.

Able to communicate clearly in writing (e.g. email, memos, explanations, drawings) and explain work to his/her supervisor and others in the group. Can work effectively with peers.

Understand critical power distribution within raised floor environments

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

* Education - High school diploma or state equivalent required, completion of apprentice program. Additionally, minimum of two years of related trade schooling or two years of college.
* Experience - Minimum four years experience in electrician trade

Estimated total compensation for this position:

108,000.00 - 146,070.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
