As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will perform hands-on assembly and maintenance of cutting edge rocket engine turbomachinery. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of Turbopump assembly, disassembly, testing, and tool/fixture design. You will also provide critical feedback to make improvements with respect to process control, capability, and repeatability. Additional responsibilities include: Precision assembly of rocket engine turbomachinery Detailed component inspection using calipers, micrometers, etc. to tolerances of 0.0001" Calculating dimensional stack-ups to control proper assembly of components Precision rotor balancing Coordinating hardware processing such as inspection, cleaning, and shipping Hardware management under stringent cleanliness requirements (liquid oxygen service) Safely working with hazardous systems, containing chemicals and/or high pressure Assist engineers in reviewing design concepts, providing feedback for improvements Familiarity working with assembly fixture tooling Review and follow work instructions for complex mechanical installations Innovate to improve processes and increase efficiency of operations We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform work according to procedures, specifications and test instruction.
  • Read and interpret technical drawing and follow detailed work instructions.
  • Perform all manufacturing processes required to build rocket turbo machinery and its sub components.
  • Perform cryogenic and thermal part fitment and installations.
  • Ability to understand and preform dynamic balance operations
  • Provide documented build feedback to engineering and leadership for process improvements
  • Completion of daily 5S tasks, keep work stations/area clean and organized during assembly operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • 4+ Years working with turbomachinery or similar mechanical assemblies
  • Proficient in calibrated measurement equipment/tools (Micrometers, Depth Gauges, Calipers, Torque Wrenches Etc..)
  • Experience working with critical surface assemblies and inspections
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on high precision balancing / turbomachinery for aerospace and rocket engine applications
  • A&P License Strongly Desired
  • Strong Mathematical, Basic Computer (MS Office), Decision-making skills and problem solving and strong written and verbal communication Skills.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team to meet aggressive schedules
  • Able to work in a high paced, challenging work environment and adapt to changes.
  • Must be able to support other areas when needed and lift 50lbs unassisted/ stand for extended periods of time.

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $35.52-$49.73
