Description

The Department of Chemistry plans to make a one-year postdoctoral appointment beginning March 2025.

Applicants should submit all materials electronically through interfolio. This includes a cover letter summarizing the candidate's research experience and interest in the position, a curriculum vitae with a list of publications, and contact information for threereferences.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry, Organic chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or a closely related field. In addition, the successful candidate should have excellent communication skills (written and oral). Experience in kinetic and mechanistic evaluation of electrochemical synthesis is required. The candidate is expected to use atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and surface initiated polymerization.

Preference will be given to candidates who have shown outstanding promise and/or excellent accomplishments in research through a strong publication record.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will excel in critical thinking, data and information analysis, communication skills, and problem-solving.

Must be able to solve synthetic problems and use electrochemical atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP).

Must have experience with the above-listed polymerization techniques as well as working under air-free conditions. Furthermore, extensive knowledge of techniques used to monitor reactions and their electrochemical properties include NMR, Mass spec, GPC, IR, UV-Vis, cyclic voltammetry is required.
