Summary of the Job:

The Sr. Associate, Banking Risk will work directly with the VP, Banking Risk and other members of the leadership team to ensure appropriate data is available to enable fact-based strategy development and identification of key business unit goals. Additionally, the role will help ensure efficient execution of business processes through team collaboration and effective communication.

About This Role:

  • Data Insights & Analysis: Partner with Data Enablement team and business unit groups across the enterprise to leverage data and develop business reporting tools to monitor operational performance, data cleanliness and identify opportunities. Data flows between several systems and is a key component in every process, procedure, and report.
    • Develop dashboards to measure performance of KPIs and OKR's; evaluate current results and operation models to support growth in the business loan segment.
    • Leverage various internal and external data sources to establish working reports to monitor data cleanliness across the business segment loan value stream.
    • Document & track progress on key strategies and business objectives
  • Strategy Development, Goal Setting & Workflow Processes: Support the VP, Banking Risk and Leadership team in developing, implementing and improving overall business strategy, processes and goals.
    • Develop and advise on the framework of strategic initiatives
    • Lead and implement all Banking Risk strategic and business planning events.
    • Perform ongoing process evaluation to ensure standards are being met.
    • Document, track and regularly report on progress of objectives.
  • Collaboration & Coordinated Execution: Enable team collaboration and drive operational and strategic alignment across the teams to ensure maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with the Banking Risk Leadership Team to develop, refine, and implement the first line risk management strategy.
    • Ensure alignment of risk management initiatives with broader organizational goals.
    • Lead or oversee critical first line risk projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
    • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and follow up on action items to maintain momentum on critical projects.
    • Track, monitor, and report progress on strategic priorities; ensure accountability and resolve issues proactively.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to refine risk practices based on emerging trends and challenges.
  • Communication: Enable communication best practices to ensure consistent and effective delivery of key messages within line of business and overall business segment
    • Serve as a communication SME for the leadership team
    • Ensure regular communication with members of Banking Risk organization and key partners across enterprise

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrated abilities in analyzing data, assessing risks, and proposing actionable solutions on complex subject matter.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Meticulous approach to ensuring accuracy and completeness in risk assessments and reports.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities, with a proactive mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present risk information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently with limited day to day guidance and deliver quality solutions within deadlines
  • Ability to manage initiatives and influence without direct authority and work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, operational leadership, or related roles, with exposure to first line activities.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk management tools and frameworks, data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint).
  • Strong project management skills

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $80,061.00-$132,099.00

This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
