ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Vice President of Facilities Engineering to work closely with the Executive Vice President of Engineering as needed to assist with business development, management, operations, staff, and production needs to:

  • Help promote the Tepa culture to employees and clients.
  • Provide strategic direction and input to identify and pursue potential business opportunities.
  • Assist with the overall management of personnel and operations in alignment with Tepa's vision, core values, and goals.
  • Provide project management as needed and help develop the personnel and project management skills of others.

Job Functions:

  • Supervises and mentors staff in all disciplines including electrical, mechanical, and fire protection design
  • Ensure streamlined and standardized processes are developed to support effective business unit operations, consistent with Tepa standards, for areas including safety, quality, project management, contracting and subcontracting, field readiness, proposal development, and security.
  • Manages tasks or coordinating projects of moderate size and complexity, makes decisions independently, provides guidance to project team
  • Facilitates the planning and performance of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Prepares and conducts technical reviews of staff, reports, correspondence, and calculations and prepares technical recommendations
  • Performs budget development and forecasting including estimates to complete, accounting for remaining risks.
  • Promote positive working support and collaboration with other Tepa divisions in Business Development efforts, project collaboration, and staff resource support.
  • Promote process improvement collaboration initiatives.
  • Maintains continuous communication with the project team and senior management, resolving challenges.
  • Works with technical, Proposal Management, and Business Development staff to support proposal development.
  • Writes Technical Approaches and other proposal documents as required.
  • Works with Leadership Team and staff to ensure Tepa Employees are treated fairly and their concerns addressed.
  • Travel as needed to active projects, assess status, and assure the client that Tepa leadership is involved.
  • Travel to Tepa meetings as requested.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or similar from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology accredited college or university. Master's degree preferred.
  • 15+ years' of experience in the facilities engineering discipline
  • 10+ years' of leadership experience managing project teams
  • 10+ years of design experience in the state, local, or Federal government markets.
  • Experience managing a geographically dispersed workforce.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to become licensed within a year of hire
  • Capability of leading multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven organizational leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Previous military experience; preferred
