The Fuel Engineering Technologies (FET) Department develops and maintains codes & methods for commercial nuclear power plants in areas such as Core Neutronics, Thermal Hydraulics, Fuel Rod Performance, Reactor Core Monitoring, and Spent Fuel Pool Criticality. We support both external customers (primarily station personnel that work in the areas of Reactor Engineering, Plant Operations, and Nuclear Core Design) as well as various internal teams in the Nuclear Fuel Business Unit. Engineers in the FET Department lead new product development & optimization, perform core design for advanced reactors such as the AP1000 Pressurized Water Reactor, validate & verify computer codes, perform onsite plant startup testing and hardware/software installation, and provide expert technical consultation & training. Our worldwide, best-in-class product portfolio includes the BEACON Core Monitoring System, the TracWorks Fuel Data Management System, and the Alternate Rod Worth Verification (ARWV) Program.

The FET Product Technical Management Intern will support both technical and business/strategy-related tasks. Work may include support for deployment and continuous improvement of reload startup physics testing optimization such as Subcritical Physics Testing and Local Fuel Duty Risk Monitoring with the BEACON system, identifying opportunities for machine learning applications and/or automation, performing cost-benefit analyses, improving the user interface and user experience (UI-UX) for existing products, reimagining and expanding mechanisms for customer/industry communication and collaboration, and more.

Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:


*Pursuing or completed a Bachelor's degree inNuclear Engineering Required (other engineering disciplines will NOT be considered for our Nuclear Engineering positions).

* Minimum GPA of 3.0 Required

* Completion of Sophomore year of college by May 2025
