General Maintenance Electrician

Position Summary:

Advancia Government Services (a federal government contractor) seeks a full-time Maintenance Electrician. The Maintenance Electrician will perform electrical maintenance tasks such as fixing or replacing faulty electrical switches, outlets, and circuit breakers. They may also inspect and diagnose problems with electrical systems, and perform repairs such as rewiring circuits or replacing parts.

**Position is contingent upon award of contract.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Install residential type (stand-alone) smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
• Install/replace GFCI outlets
• Identify defective wiring and run new wires in existing conduits
• Apply LOTO, test and identify life 208/460 v circuits
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* 3-5 years maintenance electrician experience

* Arc flash training or ability to obtain

* Valid driver's license

* Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

* Regular, dependable attendance

* U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

* Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the electrical trade

* Thorough knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and regulations pertaining to the electrical trade

* Must be able to read and understand blueprints as appropriate to trade

* Adaptable and flexible in work situations

* Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner

* PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment. Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
