Job Description

The University of Missouri System Human Resources dedicated HR team provides leadership in the planning, integration, and implementation of human resource services and programs for faculty and staff across all campuses and the health system. Collectively with our campus colleagues, we serve as a strategic and trusted advisor. Support an inclusive and dynamic culture and workforce. This position develops and informs total rewards strategies for a highly complex university system. Advanced knowledge of health care systems and health benefits, the highly technical and dynamic nature of health care, and the fiscal and political environment of publicly sponsored employee benefits programs is required. This role involves working closely with leaders to identify data trends, evaluate plan performance, and develop actionable insights to improve plan efficiency and cost control outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with University leaders and health system to influence and improve outcomes for the University's offered medical plans. Identify key medical and pharmacy claims experience metrics and trends to proactively recommend ways to manage key risks. Exercise predictive health claim modeling to proactively forecast trends.

* Monitor and elevate changes in claim experience impactful the benefit plans. Uses advanced mathematical and statistical concepts and theories to analyze and collect data and construct solutions to business problems.

  • Build a structured information system to collect, analyze, and interpret complex medical and pharmacy claims data from multiple sources utilizing a modern technological approach that is HIPAA compliant. Connect medical and pharmacy claims data to strategically support active plan management.
  • Prepare, deliver, and present dashboard reports for executive leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve health plan performance to support decision-making and strategic planning.

* Partnering with the Director of Benefit Plans, stay updated with industry trends, benchmarking, and best practices related to health plan data analysis.

* Serves as an expert in the field and principal advisor. Creates formal networks with key decision makers and widely recognized as expert and thought leader by both internal and external community.

  • Support ad-hoc analysis requests and special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

The required 'minimum qualifications' established for this position are a master's degree and at least 10 years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience).

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with health plan administration and claims data analysis.
* Experience collaborating within or with a Health System on benefits management in a narrow network type arrangement with risk sharing.
* Familiarity with machine learning and predictive analytics techniques.
* Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) certification, or another HR certification a plus.Master's degree in Health Informatics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
* Proven experience in data analysis, preferably within the healthcare or insurance industry.
* Proficiency in identifying and communicating trends in the health industry and proactively identifying changes.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
* Knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.

Anticipated Hiring Range

$109,262 -236,392 annually, salary commensurate with education and experience.
