Estimator Internship - Electrical Construction

Company Overview

Established in 1920, E.S. Boulos Company, a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc, has provided comprehensive electrical construction services to clients throughout the eastern United States. E.S. Boulos has two divisions, offering both power line construction and commercial/industrial electrical construction, making it a full-service electrical provider.

E.S. Boulos' commercial and industrial electrical construction division specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects, telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, high voltage distribution service, and maintenance to clients. E.S. Boulos also offers design-build and pre-construction services and has in-house pre-fabrication and Building Information Modeling (BIM) capabilities.

Essential Functions

• Learn and assist with the estimating process.
• Learn to read specifications and bid documents to determine scope of work requirements.
• Learn to read electrical drawings and perform take-offs.
• Learn to use BlueBeam and/or Accubid 16/Livecount to aid in estimating
• Prior to the end of their internship, the intern will create and present a self-reflection project detailing their gained industry knowledge, future career goals, as well as personal and professional growth. The presentation will be provided in PowerPoint and presented to their direct management team.
• Participation in the Lunch & Learn internship program provided by the MYR Group Internship Leadership team.

Qualifications

• College sophomore or above working towards a related undergraduate degree or be currently enrolled in or attending trade school. If you are a recent graduate, you must be within 1 year of your graduation date.
• No experience required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prepare and give presentations.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate with employees and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
