Job Objective:
Manage the government relations, public affairs and regulatory affairs for Hilcorp Alaska, LLC in multiple Alaska jurisdictions.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Develops, maintains, and manages relationships with local government officials, such as mayors, assemblymembers, and administration officials, in key jurisdiscions, including the North Slope Borough, Kenai Peninsula Borough, and Fairbanks, among others.
- Manages Hilcorp relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders and industry groups.
- Supports managing Hilcorp's interactions with State leadership, including legislative and executive offices.
- Monitors legislative and regulatory bodies for laws and regulations that impact company operations.
- Supports the delivery of Hilcorp's external communications strategy, including media affairs, content creation and management of external consultants.
- Develops and executes strategies that benefit company operations.
- Arranges and accompanies senior management on stakeholder meetings.
- Supports the execution of major company stakeholder events, such as Iditarod.
- Represents Hilcorp within trade associations and industry groups.
- Educates local and state officials regarding Hilcorp and our operations.
- Assists in development of advocacy or grassroots strategies in multiple jurisdictions.
- Facilitates and coordinates engagement activities including tours, visits, presentations, and possible media opportunities within operating areas.
- Coordinates with various departments and staff in addressing local/regional concerns in regard to environmental impacts or cultural sensitivities.
- Assists the coordination of corporate charitable giving and maintains relationships with local charitable organizations.
- Assists in developing department budget and strategic plan.

- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
- Travel requirement: approximately 30%

Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with proven success in public, government, and regulatory affairs.
- Experience working with or within local, state or federal government in an oil and gas producing state, preferably with some prior Alaska experience.
- Experience managing external consultants.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Proactively gathers information and communicates it succinctly and quickly to executives, managers and employees.
- Demonstrates maturity, confidence, poise and the presence necessary to interface effectively with senior-level executives as well as external constituencies such as media and government officials.
- Ability to work under pressure while managing priorities and meeting deadlines effectively.
- Resourceful problem solver with ability to formulate and execute plans efficiently and effectively.
- Proficient PC skills.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college.
