About the Position: National Grid is looking for a qualified One Person Line/Trouble Mechanic in our Liverpool, NY location. At the starting hourly rate of $61.19. In this role the selected candidate will work individually or with additional line, trouble and/or line/trouble mechanics in line construction, maintenance, and trouble response on electric transmission and/or distribution circuits. The One Person Line/Trouble Mechanic will complete various transmission and distribution switching, respond to and repair overhead and underground trouble, operate regulators, reclosures and sectionalizes, install/connect/disconnect services, install and repair streetlights, respond and resolve miscellaneous customer requests, complete third party make ready work, locate electric facilities, apply and remove grounds on 15 kV and below, and set meters. Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company's testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions. Many of the terms and conditions of employment for this position are defined by a collective bargaining agreement that the Company has with a local union.
