The Operator, Bakery-Ingredient Prep responsible for accurately measuring and preparing ingredients according to specific recipes, ensuring the correct components are ready for the mixing process. The Bakery Ingredient Prep Operator works closely with the Lead Mixer to support production needs. Responsibilities
- Accurately prepares and measures ingredients according to product recipes, ensuring quality and preventing contamination.
- Maintain traceability by adhering to Aspire PCE guidelines.
- Ensure that lot numbers accurately documented through traceability process.
- Weigh and label ingredients in appropriate containers (up to 50 lbs.)
- Continually monitor and control ingredient inventory control.
- Ensure that all ingredients are used as per the recipes
- Ensure that data entry is entered accurately and on time
- Ensure that refrigerated ingredients are maintained in the coolers.
- Maintain coolers organized, clean; assure ingredients in coolers are identified.
- Ensure all scaling tools are functioning accurately such as weight scales, scanners etc.
- Transporting ingredients to and from the mixer platform.
- Maintain a pace of ingredient preparation that supports the mixer's efficiency, ensuring timely batch production.
- Maintain wash and ingredient prep rooms are organized and clean.
- Maintain organized and clean coolers, ensuring proper identification of ingredients.
- Make sure all documents are filled out by the end of each shift and put in their proper location
- Collaborate closely with the Machine Operator and Lead.
- Follow all applicable job procedures as outlined in the SOP manual.
- Through Aspire AOE training understands and uses Centerline and CIL daily management systems
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving process
- Performs area walk daily to detect issues & defects to help reduce and maintain waste levels
- Follows standard work procedures and trains others on current best approach to minimize system variation
- Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing improvement ideas with management and actively engaging in AOE pillar activities.
- Adhere to GMPs and Health and Safety rules outlined in the employee handbook, including:
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment in assigned production areas and workstations.
- Immediately reporting any unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries to a supervisor or lead hand.
- Using all required personal protective equipment.
- Adhere to and ensure compliance with food safety practices, including:
- Maintaining all tools in good repair and reporting any broken, damaged, or missing tools to a supervisor or lead hand (do not discard damaged tools).
- Following all GMPs, including maintaining personal hygiene, handwashing/sanitizing, and cleaning up spills (ingredients, water, debris, wood, etc.).
- Report any issues or deviations to supervisors, including immediately reporting any potential contamination or suspicious activity to line leadership.
- Reporting any unusual people or behaviors to a supervisor as a part of food security protocols.
- Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to understand and follow recipes.
- Ability to understand, operate, and adjust mixing process controls.
- Basic knowledge of dough mixing and operating mixing equipment
- Ability to comprehend scale and temperature readings.
- Basic knowledge of the SAP scaling process
- Ability to accurately and promptly document mixing and ingredient data.
- Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Problem-solving and reasoning skills.
- Minimum of 6 months of general labor experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to write clearly and legibly and possess basic effective verbal and written skills in English.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to work with computers and operating screens.
