Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager of Nursing & Health Science Simulation and Learning Lab directs the development and maintenance of a simulated clinical teaching/learning environment for faculty and students. The Manager collaborates with course coordinators and faculty to plan, develop and implement the cognitive, psycho motor and affective teaching of skills to health care students.

  • Manage and direct all simulation and lab spaces.
  • Collaborate with faculty and students to create, plan and implement meaningful simulation scenarios.
  • Manage schedules and activities of simulation and lab staff and student workers.
  • Evaluate all employees under his/her supervision.
  • Research best practices for simulation and lab spaces.
  • Manage budget associated with simulation and lab spaces.
  • Evaluate equipment/technology needs and recommend equipment purchases for annual budgets and work plans to Associate Dean.
  • Maintain simulation and lab manuals.
  • Collaborate with health institutions in the community to optimize the value of simulation and to maximize the use of resources.
  • Develop meaningful reports to analyze use of simulation spaces and recommend changes when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • BS in Nursing, Illinois RN License required.
      • MSN in Nursing, Illinois RN License and coursework in Simulation preferred.
    • Experience
      • Two years Nursing practice required.
      • Nursing experience required; Health Sciences Lab and Simulation experience in education required.


    Working Conditions:

  • Computer, all machines/equipment in the simulation and nursing labs.
  • Busy simulation hospital, nursing home and home health environments.
  • Very active work day, little time at a desk.
  • This position requires a background check and drug screen.

    Hiring Range:
    Starting pay begins at $75,131 based on experience

    Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
