The opportunity The ITS Vice President of Business Technology Solutions (BTS) will report to the Chief Information Officer. You will have the primary responsibility for advancing SNHU's business facing technology solutions. This includes leading a diverse team to delivery on and support SNHU's primary business facing platforms. You will oversee the strategy, operating model and technical resources which ensure that systems are designed, developed, configured, integrated, and optimized to achieve strategic our goals and deliver ongoing value. You will be responsible for solution delivery across the bulk of SNHU's front office services for students, faculty, and staff including CRM, Academic Technology and Learning Services, Student Information Systems (SIS), and other platform-level software solutions and services. The VP of BTS collaborates with ITS counterparts and partners to provide a design-driven and quality-driven approach to systems development and platform support by scalable shared services delivery across platforms. You will apply experience in software development, integration, solution delivery, and deployment and high-performing technical team building to deliver shared services to help to promote the University's mission-critical platforms and digital transformation. You will be Hybrid, working within a commutable distance to our Manchester, NH office. #LI-Hybrid What You'll Do:
- You will work with the ITS planning and governance teams to align and prioritize business demand within the ITS portfolio.
- You will work with team members both in ITS and across partners to set a clear BTS solution delivery model that supports solution delivery at speed and scale.
- You will develop and maintain a multi-year roadmap aligned with SNHU's programs, ITS priorities and technology strategies.
- You will partner with ITS leadership in setting technical solution delivery strategy and direction. Foster a design-driven culture ensuring adherence to industry best practices for systems development, integration, and business capability development disciplines across the University.
- You will establish policies and procedures that produce high-quality software products and services.
- You will promote continuous improvements in the shared development/deployment model and the shared services portfolio.
- You will define BTS solution delivery success metrics ensuring partner alignment and tracking/reporting of OKRs/KPIs/SLAs/analytics to appropriate members and executives.
- You will define, implement, and lead BTS governance activities ensuring understanding of ITS governance practices, our goals, and integrated solution architecture and design standards.
- You will promote knowledge sharing; operationalize a learning environment and knowledge base system for solution delivery competencies.
- You will provide strategic and tactical leadership to deliver a portfolio of high-quality shared services for solution delivery while ensuring alignment with ITS Service Delivery standards. Services include: Demand Management, Portfolio Management, Requirements/Backlog Management, Design/Code/Unit Testing/Systems Integration Testing/User Acceptance Testing, Maintenance/Enhancement Services, Incident and Problem Management, Release Management, Platform Management.
- You will provide leadership and direction for solution delivery teams to ensure effective demand management, prioritization and decision making.
- You will ensure alignment of resources, skills, and tasks to plan and complete important programs, projects and agile initiatives. Ensure delivery commitments are being addressed and resources are appropriately skilled and allocated.
- You will develop, manage, allocate and govern the annual budget for BTS services in close cooperation with the ITS executive team.
- You will partner with appropriate ITS, business teams and vendors to develop standards to ensure consistent approach, methods, tools, and operating processes. Evaluate workflow processes and provide ongoing optimization recommendations.
- You will develop, evolve, and maintain solution delivery tools and methods that drive scalable solutions.
- You will work with HR and ITS leadership to develop and execute workforce plans that ensure Business Technology Solutions can supply highly skilled resources to meet current and future needs.
- You will lead by example demonstrating the highest professional standards to foster a collaborative and cohesive team which embraces SNHU's mission and values of respect, diversity and inclusion. What We're Looking For :
- 20+ years of relevant experience within Information Technology and/or Solution Delivery.
- 5+ years in a senior IT leadership role responsible for transformational IT programs, strategy, budgeting, and staffing.
- Experience should reflect successful demonstration of outstanding business skills, technical skills, people skills (collaborative leadership, influential) and soft-skills (innovative, visionary, inspires trust, results-oriented.)
- Experience with building/leading highly skilled, motivated, and collaborative teams.
- Experience managing complex IT systems and operational teams supporting mission-critical business systems.
- Experience defining and executing IT and organizational strategy to support overall strategic goals.
- Experience working with diverse functional organizations in a business partnering role.
- Experience with all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Systems Integration, Application Development and Data Management.
- Excellent knowledge of IT principles and policies including ITSM, ITIL, Agile and DevOps.
- Ability to lead a large multi-disciplinary team across a diverse set of services powered by scalable methods, tools, and frameworks.
- Expertise in complex budget planning and financial management.
- Exceptional leadership and facilitation skills as this is a high visibility position with substantial operational impact.
- Strong financial, vendor and contract negotiation and management skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor others.
