Printpack is seeking a motivated engineer to fulfill the role of Product Development Engineer II or Sr. Product Development Engineer I for expansion and development of our capabilities and technologies to address new growth markets in packaging.

The location is Atlanta. GA preferred, but other locations may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Basic Requirements:
  • Four (4) year degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Material/Packaging Science, or equivalent work experience.

Customer Interaction Requirements:
  • Advanced level of customer interaction under minimal supervision.

  • Management of the technical relationship with the customer without direct supervision.

  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels and functions within the customer's organization.

  • Lead customer problem resolution and complaints without supervisory oversight.

  • Communicates issues and resolutions appropriately.

Technical Requirements and Complexity:
  • Subject matter expert within the specific area of responsibility.

  • Supporting manufacturing with on-site support of trials and being an external resource for materials-related root cause investigation.

  • Design commercial specifications to be fit-for-use and fit-for-make.

  • Data gathering and analysis are imperative for success.

  • High breadth of cross-functional awareness and commercial knowledge.

Project Management Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and manage projects with no direct supervision.

  • Communicates with supervisor, customers, sales, marketing, manufacturing, and operations planning for rapid, successful commercialization of new products/technology.

  • Leads internal/external resources to efficiently manage projects to completion.

Technology Continuous Improvement:
  • Help drive improvement of existing assets to address new challenges in adjacent markets.

  • Collaboration with manufacturing and engineering to design enhancements to make novel packaging solutions.

  • Understand packaging technologies and tools that may enable Printpack to address new markets.
