Position Overview
The Engineering Technician will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining laboratory equipment. This may include mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and software programming such as Labview Data Acquisition programming. The Engineering Technician will work for the new NSF Engineering Research Center - Environmentally Applied Refrigerant Technology Hub (EARTH) in the LEEP2 Engineering complex and report to Prof. Mark B. Shiflett, Foundation Distinguished Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Kansas.
Job Description 50% Mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation design, construction, and maintaining experimental equipment.
45 % Software programming such as labview software and operation of experimental apparatus.
5% Support as needed for lead researchers
Position Requirements This position works on-site but remote work may be considered per mutual agreement between the Institute for Sustainable Engineering and selected candidate.
Due to complex state employment laws, the University of Kansas may be unable to hire fully remote workers for this position outside of Kansas.
