Finance Service Center Job Description
Role Summary A successful candidate for this position in the Controller's Office will:
The Finance Information Systems team maintains the University of Missouri's PeopleSoft Financials System (ERP) and Workday Planning (EPM) and is responsible for the month-end and year-end transactional processing, data reconciliation, reporting, supporting financial planning, and system maintenance and upgrades. The group provides functional expertise for the PeopleSoft modules, Web Applications, Workday Planning, and Financial Reporting. The Office of Finance is looking for a talented Budget and Reporting Functional Lead to join the Finance Information Systems team. This position is primarily responsible to manage, enhance, and upgrade the Workday Adaptive Planning budget and long-range financial planning modules, support PeopleSoft budget modules and processing, and coordinate and improve various finance reporting applications. They provide support to the campuses/end users on the day-to-day functionality of the application and support key reporting functions. This position will: oversee and support configuration of Workday Planning, troubleshoot system processing; support functionality testing during upgrades; work with technical staff to identify and resolve system issues; and develop as well as reconcile reporting applications. There is close coordination and support with the Senior Finance Systems Specialist, General Ledger Functional Lead and the Finance Systems Director. Key Responsibilities Support new and existing Workday Planning Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) software applications. Collaborate with functional users and Information Technology staff to find solutions to business process problems or changes (such as benefit changes of budgeting for paid time off) for budget and long-range financial planning. Coordinate the testing of patches, fixes and upgrades to EPM and ERP systems while working with impacted business users to complete thorough user acceptance testing. Facilitate and participate in user focus groups to offer end user support. Resolve incidents and service requests logged through ticketing system. Complete system demonstrations and training. Create and maintain training materials and support user needs and questions. Perform budget year preparation and year-end roll-over review and procedures for the EPM and ERP budget modules. Assist in the development of new management reports and respond to ad hoc reporting requests utilizing the current accounting system and new reporting applications. Collect, validate, and analyze data requested by management to assist with effective business decisions. Support new design and provide continued support for Finance reporting packages and reports built as part of ERP and EPM user interface. Develop and test end user and management reports for day-to-day management and other reports for strategic management of university resources. Support data specifications, data design and report delivery for financial performance & accountability project including an improved reporting strategy for end users. Serve as backup for General Ledger and Asset Management Functional Lead. As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected to support the mission and purpose of the University of Missouri System. Shift
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5 pm (Hybrid) Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or other business-related areas Experience working in enterprise financial planning software applications Experience working in functional or technical support of enterprise software applications Experience performing business analysis in one or more of the following PeopleSoft pillars: Campus Solutions, Human Resources, Finance/Supply Chain and/or with General Ledger processing. Experience working with extraction and presentation of financial data through SQL/query, or a business intelligence tool such as Cognos, PowerBI, Tableau, etc. Understanding of governmental accounting standards Strong analytical and organizational skills Anticipated Hiring Range
Hiring Salary: $73,000 - $85,000 per year Community Information
