About This Role

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an Overnight Vet Assistant to join our dedicated Equine/Livestock team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance services to the KSU-VHC both equine and livestock services. Primary purpose is to coordinate technical services required for providing quality veterinary care to client, teaching and research patients presented to the equine and livestock department. This position is also responsible for monitoring 4th year veterinary students and entering information into the electronic medical records system. Stocking and cleanliness of the large animal barn as deemed necessary. Lastly, this position is responsible for coordination of animal treatments and diagnostics along with the supervising DVM on the case. Working hours for this position will include Saturday-Monday, 8pm-8am.

Worksite Option

This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma
  • One year of relevant large animal handling and hospital setting experience


Other Requirements:



  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
