Responsibilities
We are looking for a full time Milieu Specialist to join our team. The Milieu Specialist regularly ensures the safety and security of the facility at all times by monitoring the movement of the units, ensuring programming is followed, supporting direct care staff and following all facility policies and procedures. The Milieu Specialist actively works to support the facility mission of providing an environment of safety. Qualifications Education: High School diploma or GED. One year experience in an inpatient setting or other related setting is preferred. A minimum of two years of college education with at least 12 semester (18 quarter) hours in the social sciences may be substituted for one year of work experience. Experience: Two (2) years of experience in an inpatient setting or other related setting is preferred. A minimum of two years of college education with at least 12 semester (18 quarter) hours in the social sciences may be substituted for two years of work experience. Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred. Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPI training, Service Excellence Training and CPR certification required. Certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation.
