The Corporate Supply Chain Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Manager - Purchasing - Capital Equipment.

The Manager - Purchasing - Capital Equipment provides management and direction for the day to day operations of the centralized purchasing function. Manages the purchasing process; maintains established policies and procedures; and manages the daily work flow. Meets established standards. Hires; trains and develops staff.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manages the daily operations of order placement - ensures resources are utilized appropriately and buyers are meeting established performance standards.
  • Monitors compliance to purchasing policies and procedures.

  • Manages process improvement. Continuously measures performance and improves productivity and processes of order placing.

  • Manages employee development and performance evaluations. Provides on-going training and development of employees. Conducts annual reviews. Identifies training requirements, and supports team building activities.
  • Responsible for the UHS capital / project requisition system. Coordinates with A/P Manager to ensure efficient work flow from PO to payment.

  • Maintains thorough knowledge of the McKesson information management application and strives for continuous improvement of utilization.

  • Manages vendors. Understands the GPO contracts and pricing. Ensures vendors are meeting performance expectations. Enhances opportunities for cost savings by promoting use of UHS standards and utilization of contracted vendors.

  • Co-Chairs UHS Capital Equipment Standards committee.
  • Provides department overview at all UHS Corporate hosted conferences for end users.


Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required with 5-8 years of related experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, databases and material management systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task and change priorities based on customer needs.
  • Staff Supervisory / Management experience required.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of all aspects of automated Supply Chain system required.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare capital equipment required.

Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, databases and material management systems.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interface with a broad range of peers, end users and senior management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to multi task and change priorities based on customer needs.
