Job Summary

Performs administrative and operational duties to support the College of Law. Provides administrative support for assigned programs. Serves as a point of contact to students, prospective students, and faculty on matters related to course management and enrollment, program requirements, policies and procedures, and other administrative matters. Resolves moderately complex issues. Performs work that requires knowledge of administrative/office management practices. Work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. Serves as a liaison between program assistants, faculty, and the Dean's office.

  • Provides administrative, academic, and instructional support to faculty, supporting Assistant and Associate Deans, and Adjuncts with daily activities. Facilitates communication between students and professors to ensure efficient operations of the department.
  • Coordination and facilitation of specific activities/tasks/assignments for the College of Law, such as course scheduling and space allocation, program promotion, and recruitment, event planning, including catering, accommodations, and meeting sites, logistics, invitations, flyers, and duplication of pertinent materials. Participates in and arranges after-hours and weekend events as required.
  • Monitors account/expenditures and reconciles statements. Advises management on budgetary needs or discrepancies. Assist in the coordination/preparation of strategic plans in support of the program or service.
  • Assists in recording and maintaining accurate grades in the system. Assists in creating and monitoring courses.
  • Assists Faculty in preparing, inputting or uploading, and administering midterm and final exam materials in ExamSoft or other assessment platforms. Oversees training coordination of exam administration among faculty support staff and serves as point person for those activities. Performs various administrative duties for additional faculty including but not limited to preparing class handouts, events, exam preparation, proctoring exams and etc.
  • Proofreads and distributes course materials for correct grammar, format and content while exercising tact, discretion, good judgment and diplomacy.
  • Assists with the preparation of relevant documents for onward submission to the American Association of Law Schools, preparation and distribution of faculty tenure and non-tenure promotion files and correspondence, and preparation and distribution of ABA accreditation files.
  • Assists with the preparation of travel authorizations, expense reports, requisitions and procurement card transactions and reconciliation in PantherSoft as needed. Serves as a University card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures.
  • Serves as liaison between program participants and the university community. Trains, directs, supervises, and evaluates the work of program assistants and others and is highly accountable to the work of the program, as required. Assures that the staff are compliant with university policies and procedures.
  • Performs related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of office or related experience.
