Position Overview:
The Data Privacy Engineer is responsible for the implementation, configuration, operations and management of processes, procedures, and technologies supporting PBS's comprehensive data privacy program.

Requirements for success: Experience requirement:
5-8 years of experience in data privacy, data governance, product development, security engineering, or related field. Experience engineering, building, configuring, and maintaining data privacy technologies in support of business data privacy outcomes. Experience implementing and maintaining data discovery, data classification, data retention, universal preference management, and subject rights management technologies. Experience in DevSecOps, SDLC, product development, or related fields is a benefit.
Education and/or certification requirement:
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, data privacy, cybersecurity, or related discipline is required. An advanced degree in computer science, information security, cybersecurity or a related field is preferred. The candidate has one or more of: Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT).
Skills and abilities:
Strong analytical and problem resolution skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work well with a diverse client base. Knowledge of the privacy aspects of the product development life cycle, data handling and asset classification, and knowledge of the role of a privacy professional in ensuring that customer data is properly managed. Ability to autonomously design, architect, configure, implement, deploy, and maintain a data privacy technology stack to achieve a stated business outcomes is required. Ability to maintain proper documentation, relevant records, and archives in an orderly, transparent fashion. Knowledge of software development life cycles (SDLCs) is beneficial
Preferred qualifications:
Expert knowledge in technologies, vendors, and platforms which perform and facilitate data discovery, data classification, risk mapping, data retention, cookie and preference management, and subject rights management is required. Basic knowledge of U.S. laws and regulations, such as VPPA, COPPA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Privacy Shield certification process, and U.S. (state and federal) privacy laws; to include but not limited to CPPA, CPRA, and VCDPA is desired.
