MHT MILIEU MANAGER

This opportunity is full time, primarily 8 hour shifts, with weekend rotation, and availability for flexiblity.

The Meadows is a 119 inpatient behavioral health hospital and has been providing comprehensive services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults for over 35 years. The Meadows Psychiatric Center is looking for a qualified candidate for our Admin Coordinator position. This position is responsible for completing and maintaining third party and provider contracts, purchasing for the facility, creating and maintaining spreadsheets, preparing deposits, and is back-up for Payroll and Accounts Payable.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides real time supervision and support to MHT staff on the units. Mentors staff. Sets high expectations for the MHT role.
  • Responsible for overall milieu management. Promotes a safe, nurturing, clean, and supportive environment of care; immediately addresses & reports safety issues; addresses incidents of staff non-compliance in real time with during the shift. Provides, structures, and maintains a therapeutic environment in collaboration with the patient and staff.
  • Responsible for learning the requirements of each of the subordinate roles and fill in for these rolls if needed, including providing patient care and participating in crisis intervention and drills.
  • Proactively supports MHTs on the units by filling in to allow floor staff to take breaks or provide other positive support in situations of acuity, crisis, staffing or other unit issues.
  • Assures compliance with company policies and procedures through diligent supervision and examination of all unit activity/workflow, including routinely performing floor monitoring to ensure compliant with hospital safety procedures, such as locked bedroom doors/group rooms, linens, Q15 rounds, and MHT documentation for accuracy and legibility.
  • Acts as a preceptor for orienting staff. Assists them in competing orientation paperwork and meets with the orientees weekly. Continue to assist MHTs after orientation with educational needs. Will consistently review and update MHT orientation to ensure compliance with current policy and procedures.
  • Participates in new hire orientation, develops and revises plans for MHT staff development, education and training. Uses a variety of sources for education and training.
  • Responsible for providing milieu management training and vital sign education to MHTs during orientation and annually

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required, Associate or Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field preferred.
  • Two years' experience in the Mental Health Field required. Mental health technician experience highly preferred.
