Auria is looking to hire a Principal System Engineer - Lead MBSE Modeler to join our Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. The primary work location can be in either Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL.
This position is for a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Senior Modeler for the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) System. The selected applicant will be the senior member of the Digital Engineering team. This is a Systems Engineering role in the development, integration, and support of large-scale software-intensive systems.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain model quality, including identifying authoritative and reference data sources to support model requirements, and establishing appropriate workflows and processes to feed and sustain the models with that data at the appropriate cadence
- Support the development of models and assist the MBSE team lead with the development and implementation of team processes, task planning, and training/coaching junior team members in various aspects of MBSE and the tools themselves
- Maintain a strong technical relationship with government customers and partner organizations (internal and external) to help develop the full Digital Engineering lifecycle for the program
- Develop and deliver briefings, lead or represent the team in workshops and other collaboration venues
- Work under the supervision of the MBSE Lead and interface with other technical leads, product owners, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within available resources
- Review technical or procedural products, provide content recommendations, and be actively involved in Agile development efforts, including iteration planning and status updates
Basic Qualifications:

- Current/active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience
- or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience,
- or a PhD and 4 years of experience,
- or 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) is required to start
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs
- Extensive experience developing UML/SysML models with Dassault Systems CAMEO and Teamwork-Cloud (TWC) products or similar modeling platforms like IBM Rhapsody or SPARX EA
- Solid understanding of MBSE and how it is different from legacy Systems Engineering methodologies
- Experience working with Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements (DOORs) classic
- Understand general systems engineering management practices and tools such as:
- Agile using Atlassian JIRA
- Confluence
- SharePoint
- Understand basic data management concepts
- Flexibility to support various tasks on short notice
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing requirements derivation, allocation and traceability using both DOORS and CAMEO is highly desired
- Experience developing, managing and sustaining traditional RDBMs is highly desired
- Experience or knowledge of NOSQL Dbs as well as BIG DATA concepts such as data quality, pipelines and integrations across databases is a huge plus
- Knowledge or ability to administer these would be a definite plus:
- Ability to create and manage RTMs
- RVCMs and similar products using the CAMEO tool set
- Experience working with or leading Digital transformation efforts (DX) is a huge plus
Salary Range:The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level ($124,000 - $137,000).
