Ongoing Job Duties and Responsibilities:

In addition to these initiatives, you will take responsibility for, our will assist with, the below job duties with the goal of taking on more of these responsibilities after the above initiatives have been successfully completed.



  • Manage and partner with external tax firms in the preparation, filing and payment of company's direct and indirect taxes, including providing data, pre-filing review and reconciliation of US and non-U.S. tax returns.
  • Assist in preparing the company's annual tax provision for our US entities and 51 non-U.S. entities and ensure compliance with our internal accounting controls.
  • Lead, inspire, develop, and supervise tax department staff to foster professional growth and excellence.
  • Review the work of tax team members, including journal entries and monthly account reconciliations, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Supervise, manage, and collaborate with outside tax advisors on tax audits by local tax authorities and special projects, including evaluating and provide perspectives.
  • Support the company's Tax Director in developing and implementing tax planning strategies, policies, and procedures and supporting the same tax perspectives for local country leaders.
  • Assist the company's Tax Director in the oversight and management of transfer pricing positions, M&A activities, and impact analysis of legislative developments.
  • Partner with company leadership to proactively research and evaluate the tax requirements, costs, and risks associated with cross-border work, ensuring the tax implications are addressed before client contracts are executed to mitigate unexpected tax costs or exposures.
  • Advise and closely collaborate with other corporate functions, including Treasury, Finance, Accounting and Legal on matters such as tax forecasting, restructurings, cash deployment, foreign currency matters and the capitalization of non-U.S. subsidiaries.
  • Provide regular updates on tax projects to key stakeholders, including the Corporate Controller, CFO, and Executive Management using clear communications and detailed dashboards to enhance understanding of tax matters.
  • Serve as a technical expert and valued business partner to global Accounting and Finance teams located in the US, Australia, UK, Canada, and the Middle East who request support in interpreting and managing tax regulations.
  • Assist in developing the Corporate Tax Department budget, ensuring cost efficiency for internal labor, external professional services, technology licenses, and travel.
  • Manage and maintain technologies used to perform tax functions globally, including EPM and the tax engine, to ensure functionality and alignment with organizational reporting needs.
  • Activity participate and provide vocal support to continuous improvement initiatives within the Tax Department and collaborate cross-functionally with the Finance and Accounting teams.
  • As a leader within Accounting and Finance, you should participate in strategic initiatives, development programs, networking events, and related activities where you are passionate.



Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate must be a self-starter who is able to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines within HDR. The candidate must also be a problem-solver and inquisitive with a genuine desire to understand the "why." In addition, they must be a strong collaborator, capable of working successfully with tax and cross-functional teams as well as an effective communicator who understands and appreciates the value of challenge and diverse thought.

Essential Qualifications:



  • Minimum 8+ years of corporate tax experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Tax or Accounting
  • Knowledge of corporate tax, and related international tax topics
  • Knowledge of ASC 740 income tax provision topics
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple assignments
  • Positive attitude and desire to be part of successful team
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Must be able to work independently, handle interruptions, and shift priorities, as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS applications



Preferred Experience:



  • Big 4 Public Accounting experience is a plus
  • Master's degree and/or CPA preferred
  • Prior experience with transfer pricing compliance and documentation
  • Familiarity with tax laws and tax administration of non-U.S. jurisdictions
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with ERP systems, e.g., Oracle & Hyperion
  • Prior experience with managing fiscal authority tax audits, including performing related diligence and drafting responses to information requests on tax matters
  • Mix of public accounting and U.S. large corporate industry experience


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Management experience
  • Able to perform tax planning
