This position will be partially based in the following office location:

Manchester, NH

For hybrid roles, employees must be able to commute to Manchester, NH on a regular basis.

The opportunity

You will support a comprehensive program for advancing SNHU's engagement of its 250,000+ alumni. Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Associate Director is an important member of the team responsible for encouraging meaningful relationships and creating impactful programs for alumni from all pathways including on-campus, online, and community partner sites.

You will work a hybrid schedule that includes both remote flexibility and the need to be onsite 2-3 days per week. #LI-Onsite

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement a strategy for alumni engagement that fosters connections with alumni, enhances their affinity with SNHU, and encourages involvement in several university projects.
  • Help identify opportunities to enhance the alumni experience, recognizing the diverse pathways through which alumni connect with SNHU.
  • Cultivate and strengthen alumni ties to the university through professional interests, identity, or student experience as part of affinity programming.
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of colleagues to foster purposeful alumni and student engagement for professional networking, mentoring, career exploration, and professional development.
  • Co-plan Homecoming Weekend with Student Involvement. Specifically plan events such as the Annual Alumni Board of Directors meeting, donor stewardship and reunion events. Ensure the availability of virtual events such as Paint Night and the virtual 5k. Work with other university partners such as the Library and Athletics to plan special programs on campus.
  • Manage the Alumni Homecoming Weekend expenses, associated vender agreements and contracts, ensuring adherence to the budget.
  • Lead Alumni Engagement efforts for all affinity-based programs such as young alumni, active Citizen Network, Honors Program, and Orientation Leaders.
  • Lead Alumni Engagement efforts for all regional programing and events.
  • Lead Alumni Engagement efforts for all career base alumni volunteer programs such as mock interviews, alumni panels, and alumni speaker programs.
  • Help plan for cross-campus events.
  • Plan and manage the Young Alumni Newsletter, showcasing programs and events targeted to recent graduates.
  • Coordinate the volunteer recruitment/outreach process, sourcing, tracking, and recognition for affinity-based, regional based, and career-based alumni engagement activities and event.
  • Work with the budget manager to ensure regional events and travel remain within budget.
  • Use Raiser's Edge to enter contact notes from all individual visits and other substantive personal contact.

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience of community development and event planning responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, communications, public relations, business, finance, hospitality, or related field. Experience in lieu of degree accepted.
  • Valid NH Drivers License
  • Successful program/event management.
  • Experience with Alumni Engagement, Institutional Advancement, and university-wide activities to best represent standards and priorities of the university and the department in all member contacts.
  • Experience with full cycle volunteer management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, multiple social media outlets, and web platforms for program facilitation.
  • Ability to travel to meet with regional volunteers, supporting alumni and student engagement activities.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $62,411.00 - $99,876.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $68,964.00 - $93,304.00.
