Precinmac is a leading supplier of mission-critical, precision machined components used in the aerospace and defense, semiconductor, and automation equipment sectors. We specialize in manufacturing uniquely designed high tolerance precision machined components and assemblies, with a focus on continuous improvement, on-time delivery, and the highest possible quality and consistency. We are looking for a Materials Buyer/Planner who has a drive for excellence and experience buying metals for manufacturing.

The Materials Buyer / Planner is responsible for ordering and scheduling materials and services to meet manufacturing schedule requirements. The Buyer/Planner is expected to maintain and develop good relationships with their supply base as well as negotiate best cost for their list of materials.

Requirements:

Individuals must demonstrate leadership, multi-tasking capability and the ability to communicate clear, accurate information to both external and internal customers. This position requires self-control, professionalism, and the ability to handle stressful situations with confidence and integrity.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Fully versed in purchasing procedures.
  • 5+ years of buying/purchasing experience.
  • Manufacturing background is a plus.
  • Syteline experience is a plus.
  • Experience with the purchasing of metals preferred.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

  • Negotiate for the purchase of supplies, equipment, and services for use in a Manufacturing facility.
  • Responsible for understanding developments and changes at suppliers and changes in technology that may affect the commodities purchased.
  • Develop RFQs, solicit quotes, analyze costs and terms, perform cost/price analysis, select suppliers, negotiate prices and terms and conditions, establish and monitor supplier schedules.
  • Evaluate current and prospective suppliers through supplier audits and various objective performance measurements, including on time delivery, level of quality, and price.
  • Act as primary liaison between the manufacturer and supplier.
  • Order expediting or de-expediting.
  • Manage the purchasing cycle, including generating requisitions, PO creation,
  • PO follow-up, goods reception and final payment.
  • Monitor supplier performance with a system that monitors, measures and provides feedback on supplier performance.
  • Provide an uninterrupted flow of materials and services.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) in Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through five or more years of increasingly responsible related purchasing experience.
  • Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) or APICS desired.
