Position Highlights:
- Position: Research Coordinator
- Hourly Pay Range: $24.86-$37.29/hour. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors
- Location: Evanston, IL & locations to other sites will be required
- Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours
- Required Travel: Occasional
What you will do:
- Development and implementation of research protocols.
- Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage participant recruitment, informed consent processes and retention of research participants.
- Schedule and coordinate study visits and data collection procedures.
- Responsible for specimen collection, processing, and shipping (as applicable
- Collect, record, and maintain accurate research data.
- Organize and securely store research-related documents and records.
- Perform data entry, quality control, and data analysis as needed.
- Communicate with study participants, providing information, addressing questions, and maintaining rapport.
- Schedule participant visits, follow-up appointments, surveys and other study related activities
- Manage day-to-day logistics of the research project.
- Arrange for necessary supplies and equipment.
- Prepare study materials, questionnaires, and consent forms.
- Develop study databases
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures
- Work closely with the research team, principal investigator, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in coordinating interdisciplinary collaboration when necessary.
- Assist in preparing and submitting required reports to regulatory agencies.
- Ensure adherence to research protocols and guidelines.
- Complete study close-out activities for each study and follow appropriate archiving/storing/retention procedures and policies
- Assist in data analysis and interpretation of research findings,
- Collaborate with the research team to publish research results in scientific journals.
- Develop and monitor research study budgets
- Monitor and track project expenses, ensuring that they align with the approved budget.
- Purchase necessary equipment, supplies, and materials for the research project and Process reimbursements.
- Administer compensation to research participants, if applicable, in accordance with ethical and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including receipts, invoices, contracts, and other financial documents
- Provide regular updates to the principal investigator and relevant stakeholders regarding the project's financial status
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and grant requirements
What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor's degree (preferably in science biology, psychology, sociology public health, nursing or related discipline) required
- Certification: Research certification SOCRA or CCRP preferred or must be attained after 2 years of employment in research position.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of research experience as a research study assistant, research study coordinator or a combination of both.
- Skills:
- Strong Planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication (both written and verbal) to interact in a professional and sensitive manner with medical personnel, team members researchers and study participant is crucial
- Accuracy is critical in research work so attention to detail is necessary.
- Familiarity with research methodologies and data management.
- Knowledge of research ethics and regulations
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) Zoom, RedCap database and Epic required
- Must be able to work independently or with minimal supervision, and show initiative.
