Responsibilities

IBTS is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager with experience in the construction industry to support the management of federal projects. This position will assist in the day-to-day operations of federal construction projects, providing administrative, technical, and coordination support to ensure successful project execution.

The ideal candidate will possess construction management experience and familiarity with federal projects, working closely with Program Managers, Project Managers, government clients, subcontractors, and project teams to achieve project goals.

    Support Program/Project Managers in the planning, execution, and monitoring of federal construction projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including reports, meeting notes, schedules, and status updates.
  • Coordinate and track project deliverables, ensuring timely submission to meet client requirements.
  • Support the development of project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget tracking.
  • Assist in conducting engineering analyses, compiling data, and contributing to technical reports.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with government clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
  • Help manage subcontractor performance, tracking deliverables, and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Support the quality assurance process by reviewing project documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with risk identification and mitigation strategies to prevent project delays and cost overruns.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, maintaining project records, and coordinating communications between stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) under the guidance of Project Managers.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in construction project management, preferably with federal projects.
  • Familiarity with federal agencies such as EPA, FEMA, or HUD is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Smartsheet, or other project management tools.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • ICC Commercial Building Inspector Certificate or the ability to obtain it (preferred).

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to meet eligibility requirements for US Citizenship, federal security clearances, or access to government installations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to support documentation and stakeholder interactions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Exposure to or knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is a plus.
  • Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, or government clients preferred.
