Hearth & Home Technologies, the industry leader in fireplace and stove design and manufacturing, is in search of a Design Engineer Intern for our Fireplace Innovation team in Lakeville, MN! Our internship will run for approximately 12 weeks during the summer of 2025.
Each summer, 15 to 20 students from a variety of majors, join the HHT family for a summer focused on hands on learning, professional development, and networking. This is a paid internship at $24.00 per hour.
As a Design Engineer Intern with Stellar Hearth Products, a division of Hearth & Home Technologies, you join a fast-paced design team working alongside many leaders and other experienced engineers/ Project focus on:
    • Custom Optimization & Process Flow Documentation:Participating in a team that analyzes, documents, and improves the flow of information in a custom manufacturing process from quote to home install.
    • 3-D CAD & Drawings:Assisting as a CAD Designer to prepare engineering documents for new products. This involves collaborating with production and engineering to create part and assembly models and drawings.
    • Electrical Schematics:Collaborating with engineers to create electronic circuit and system drawings.
    • Technical Writing:Typing and editing technical content for product installation manuals, owner's manuals, and user guides.
From working on the development and implementation of production and processing methods to controls for quality standards, our engineering interns are challenged and charged with continually seeking better ways of conducting business: How can this be improved?
What it takes
* A sophomore or junior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or design.
* Attained high academic achievement in their education pursuits
* SolidWorks and /or CREO &WINDCHILL coursework and experience
* Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
* Familiarity with desktop publishing software, including but no limited to, PageMaker, InDesign, Illustrator, PostScript (Auto Cad), Acrobat Professional, and Photoshop.
* Strong communication skills
