The University of New Mexico is
seeking a full-time Research Coordinator who is diversity-minded,
detailed-oriented, and results-driven to join our team. The position will
support several NIH-funded projects that focus on advancing health in New
Mexico, including research education. The selected candidate will be at the
forefront of managing meaningful and engaging projects. The position is based
on main campus but supports research activities on both UNM Health Science
Center (HSC) and Main Campus. This is a great opportunity for those interested
in public-health related careers.

Position Summary:

The position involves coordinating and administering
funded research activities. The Research Coordinator will assist in project
planning, develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures, and will
serve as the administrative liaison for the projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate research and educational activities
Plan, implement, and maintain data collection and analysis systems in support of research/project protocols, including coordinating the collection and analysis of training and research data.
Recruit, instruct, and coordinate partners, research participants, or trainees as appropriate to specific study objectives and work scope.
Create systems of recruiting, tracking, and overseeing mentoring training for diverse trainees
Serve as a point of contact and interact regularly with faculty, staff, and community members regarding the research projects and provide reporting as required.
Provide formal and informal writing and presentations and the overall day-to-day oversight of the projects including administrative support.
Recruit and engage diverse stakeholders and community partners
Provide logistical support for webinars, meetings, and training with minimal supervision.
May lead and guide student employees, interns and lower-graded staff.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Ability to analyze, develop, establish, and maintain efficient office work flow and administrative processes.
Ability to multitask and effectively adapt to changing priorities for multiple research projects
Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
