Job Purpose

Responsibilities includes providing technical leadership for HRC's Dyno activities including planning, directing all testing activity within the department in order to meet in-house and external testing requirements while maximizing testing effectiveness and efficiency through continuous improvement. Develop facilities, methods and safe processes for electrification testing expansion.

Key Accountabilities
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience in supervisory and direct technical experience in the field of engine and component test. 10 years of experience with development and testing of racing engines and components utilizing an engine dynamometer or minimum 10 years of experience working in engine development related responsibilities within the racing industry. Experience of technical team leadership including scheduling, budgeting, and administration.

10 years experience with AVL PUMA and AVL dynamometers/operating systems/measurement units and fluid conditioners. Experience working with AVL IndiCom software and combustion analysis hardware. Report writing experience, utilizing Word and Excel. Presentation experience using PowerPoint. Significant experience with high performance internal combustion engines (build, test, and/or track support) Significant experience specifying, investigating, evaluating, and selecting testing equipment.

Significant Project Management experience in dealing with outside vendors and contractors for test facilities operation and maintenance. Strong planning, organizational and scheduling skills involving staff allocation based on an evaluation of work needs and an estimation of timing and skills required. Strong budgeting skills; managing significant funds required to maintain and operate highly sophisticated test facilities.

Experience with measurement and data logging equipment related to internal combustion engine dynamometer testing is required. Experience with engine control software and related calibrations are required. Experience with structuring and defining testing procedures is required. Must understand requirements for testing components and engines designed to function with high reliability in a racing environment. Project scheduling experience using Microsoft Project or similar software is required.
