Overview
Manager Veterans Financial Aid The Manager oversees the accurate and timely reconciliation of military veteran student accounts upon withdrawal or graduation. This role prepares and submits monthly 85/15 reports and maintains precise records. Additionally, the manager oversees the campuses' Veterans' Affairs (VA) certification processes by providing timely and compliant submissions. Responsibilities
Principal Accountabilities & Deliverables
- Oversee accurate and timely VA certification processing for all campuses
- Drive accountability for reconciliations of graduate and withdrawn students
- Monitor weekly VA reviews
- Verify completion of VA R&R forms, status changes, and dual certifications
- Assist in updating and maintaining the VA Campus Guidebook
- Facilitate processing VA debt letters and refunds
- Assist in developing and managing a centralized VA certification process by state and campus
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, compliance risks, and operational inefficiencies
- Assist campuses with processing VA debt letters and refunds to ensure timely resolution
- Review and process Tungsten and VR&E updates
- Maintain active enrollment manager credentials
- Prepare and present reports on VA-related matters
- Create, maintain and monitor financial aid processes in compliance with VA regulations
- Oversee annual catalog and new program submissions
- Gather required documentation and to assist with audits
- Complete, submit, and monitor periodic 85/15 reports
- Monitor campus completion of annual VA training
- Track and proactively address VA-related issues
- Review and manage inquiries in the VA Campus Support box
- Provide accurate and timely information
- Conduct monthly VA campus calls and participate in VA-guided calls
- Maintain active enrollment manager credentials
- Establish/maintain a high performance team of professional, motivated and engaged staff utilizing effective training, performance management and career-development activities while leading them to achieve established business results and performance metrics.

Qualifications
Education / Experience
- HS Diploma/GED and seven (7) years experience in Financial Aid and/or Financial Aid packaging - or -
- Bachelor's degree in business or other related field (preferred)
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Financial Aid and/or Financial Aid packaging (required)
- Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience (required)
- Veterans Affair School Certifying Official experience (required)
- Experience preparing and submitting 85/15 reports, catalog and program approvals, and assisting with VA compliance surveys (preferred)
- Experience with Enrollment Manager, Tungsten, VA-ONCE, and other financial aid processing systems (preferred)
- Must not currently be in default on any federal student loans or go into default on any federal student loans while employed
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of GI Bill programs, Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (VR&E), and other VA educational benefits
- Understanding of federal financial aid regulations, VA policies, and institutional compliance requirements
- Skilled in streamlining certification processes, implementing best practices, and enhancing efficiency
Abilities
- Ability to review, process, and reconcile student VA accounts, including managing VA debt letters and refunds
- Ability to provide guidance, answer complex VA-related questions, and facilitate resolutions for students and staff
- Ability to analyze VA certifications, reconciliations, and reports for accuracy and compliance

Work Environment
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.
