Job Title: Legal Intern
Location: ACBL HQ - Jeffersonville, IN
Job Type: Part-Time
Start Date: June 2025

Come join American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) as a LegalIntern at our headquarters in Jeffersonville, Indiana. You will work closely with different teams across ACBL's Legal and Risk Management groups and gain practical experience in the intersection of law and business. Come learn how an in-house legal team operates and collaborate closely with members of the Legal and Risk teams on a wide variety of practical applications of law.

What you will be doing... Your IMPACT:



  • Draft legal documents such as Nondisclosure Agreements, supply chain contracts, and amendments.
  • Assist with corporate governance tasks, including resolutions and meeting minutes.
  • Evaluate key legal and risk issues facing the company.
  • Research unique legal topics, including maritime law.
  • Review and assist in settling claims.
  • Support discovery and mediation preparation.
  • Participate in team discussions, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.


What we are looking for:



  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 0-3 years of office work experience (preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Westlaw or Nexus
