The Heavy Equipment Operator II operates a variety of gasoline and diesel-powered heavy equipment including tractors, tandem dump, roll back, and bucket trucks, backhoes, and skid steers used in a variety of park maintenance and improvement projects. Performs equipment loading and transport, snow plowing, and equipment inspections for safety and proper function. Acts as crew leader when designated by the Central Maintenance Administrator and engages in manual labor as required. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Central Maintenance Administrator. Annual performance goals will be set for the Heavy Equipment Operator II. Hiring Salary Range: $50,563.43 - $60,876.91
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (minimum) Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Physical: Manual work with strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions in outdoor and/or maintenance shop settings; will perform heavy manual labor in all weather conditions; lift items equal to or greater than 80 pounds; climb ladders; operate equipment and use tools. Experience: Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the completion of a high school degree or GED, plus two years of experience operating motorized construction equipment and/or semi-tractor trailers or any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience which provides:
