Geotechnical Project Manager

S&ME is seeking individual(s) to join our Service Line team in Augusta, Georgia as a Project Engineer and help us provide engineering solutions to our clients.

As a Geotechnical Project Engineer, you are essential to the successful execution and advancement of our projects. This position is key to upholding the excellence of our geotechnical engineering services, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to the expansion of our business.   • Project Oversight: Manage project scope, timelines, and financial resources to ensure successful and cost-effective completion.
  • Geotechnical Analysis: Organize and perform laboratory testing and geotechnical evaluations, ensuring precision and efficiency.
  • Technical Documentation: Develop detailed proposals, reports, and design documents with a strong focus on accuracy and clarity.
  • Client Relations: Foster clear and consistent communication with clients, oversee invoicing processes, and handle project modifications as needed.
  • Growth & Leadership: Participate in business development efforts, cultivate client partnerships, and guide staff to achieve project excellence and client satisfaction.



Who You Are:



  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field
  • You have a minimum of 4 years experience in Geotechnical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and related experience
  • You have at least 1 year of work experience as a project manager or working under a project manager
  • You have a Professional Engineer license in Georgia or the ability to obtain, a plus
  • You have excellent computer skills with the ability to learn commercial software applications



Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:



  • Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
  • Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
  • Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
