To help guide the collaborative effort, we are in search of a Senior Strategic Advisory Consultant to join our team.

Summary

As a Senior Strategic Advisory Consultant, you will be responsible for analysis, process improvement, and solution design on deliverables for Strategic Advisory work. Working to understand in-depth details on key workstreams, gather and analyze source materials, and research best practices. This role is responsible for communicating changes that impact organizational partners and tangential teams to help provide clarity and training on how to adopt new practices.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze core business processes across various business segments

  • Make strategic recommendations to drive enhanced output and results for business processes

  • Qualitatively assess and analyze how core business activities tie into strategic direction and how they provide a competitive advantage for Northwestern Mutual

  • Lead change management efforts tied to consulting engagements to ensure partner organizations can internalize and adopt the consulting recommendations

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to quickly acclimate to new organizations, and identify areas of opportunity

  • Research best practices across Northwestern Mutual and industry standards

  • Research trends in technology and financial services to produce recommendations for Northwestern Mutual to optimize

  • Build key presentations that highlight findings and recommendations

  • Build relationship with peers in partnership organization

  • Partner with project management to ensure deliverable timelines are being met

  • Participate in internal team activities to help share knowledge, research, and best practices

  • Participate in stand-ups and project management cadences to help drive initiatives forward

Skills & Qualifications

  • 4-5 years in client-facing consulting roles or equivalent experience leading projects and initiatives in the Insurance industry

  • Experience implementing change management initiatives

  • Familiarity with key process improvement concepts (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)

  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts or business strategies

  • Ability to research and understand nuances of insurance segments

  • Experienced in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, proficient in quickly creating presentations

  • Comfortable with Executive-level storytelling and presentations

  • Strong organizational skills; able to handle competing demands, and work under tight deadlines and short timeframes.

  • Demonstrated organizational agility to work across organizational boundaries, influence, and collaborate with all levels on solutions that benefit the organization.

  • Proven skills in dealing with ambiguity and paradox, and leading change.

  • Facilitation and team building skills; ability to play an active, operational and communicative role.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$84,350.00

Pay Range - End:

$156,650.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
